With over 20 years in the manufacturing of highly-engineered solutions, reinforced by 50+ years of Divgi Metalwares’ authority in the field manufacturing automotive transmission components, Divgi-TTS has honed its skills in manufacturing process engineering to a fine art. It’s understanding of Material Sciences (casting, forging, alloy steel, brass / bronze, aluminium, powder metal processes) and heat treatment (C.H.T., Nitriding, Induction Hardening etc.) has enabled it optimize designs through identifying suitable chemistry of alloy steel, & applying relevant heat treatment processes that deliver superior quality products.
The Process Engineering analyzes all aspects of the design for its manufacturability with respect to castings, metal cutting & tool design, machining processes, machining systems and tools with consideration for automation of the processes, metrology, jigs and fixtures required for the manufacturing of the product, die and mould designs and materials. Due effort is exercised in designing & developing the process best suited for manufacturing of the specific component/s, the tooling and gauging required, processes to be undertaken in-house and those that need to be outsourced. The domain expertise and capability is extended throughout the cycle to the development of prototypes and its benchmark tests.
The Process Engineering Division also provides estimates of manufacturing costs – raw material, equipment, tooling and resources based on production volumes and ramp-up timing.
In its quest for excellence, the Process Engineering Division has also innovated and discovered new scientific and engineering approaches to manufacturing products – the improvised Internal Gear Honing operation being one such – that have provided significant cost optimization while maintaining quality and volume targets.
The deep insights into the commercials also enable the Process Engineering Division to help in localizing the components with locally available low cost materials and processes without any compromise in the quality & functional requirement of the product.
